hi this is steven scarlet is from
pocketnow.com and today we're going to
take a hardware tour of the verizon HTC
touch diamond XV 6950 it's basically the
same as the gsm version of the HTC touch
diamond except that it's designed to run
on verizon's cdma ev-do network so on
the front you basically have the touch
screen the speakers at the top you've
got an LED next to the speaker then
you've got the HOME key here a return
key here you've got the d-pad with the
for selection items here and you've got
the phone call on the phone end on the
front on the bottom you have the
microphone right here in the corner and
you've got your micro USB connector for
your headphones and your power the
stylus is fits right here in the corner
and it's got a magnetic holder inside so
once you put it in it catches which is a
very nice detail on the side you've got
the volume control up and down the top
of the unit has the power button and the
speaker output the other side of the
union has nothing except at the bottom
there again the stylist so you can pull
the stylus out there's a little
indentation on the back of the unit is
where the the diamond comes in if you've
seen our review of the HTC diamond and
you can see it really captures
fingerprints I have my trusty rag right
here to wipe it off but if this device
really
captures fingerprints like crazy we've
got a 3.2 megapixel camera at the top
which is autofocus there is one
difference that I noticed between the
gsm version of the HTC touch diamond is
that it does say auto focus on the gsm
version here it just says 3.2 megapixel
so let's open it up and I was trying to
find out for the battery specs were this
is a thirteen hundred and forty million
batteries on in the unit you've got a
slot for a microSD card here and the
reset button obviously there's no sim
holder like on the gsm version because
this is a cdma evo and the ESN number is
pre-programmed in the unit in terms of
specifications we've got a 400 megahertz
processor which is at Qualcomm MSM and
256 megabytes of ROM 128 megabytes of
RAM it's a 2.8 inch screen and it's 480
x 640 resolution so it's all in all it's
not a bad device although right now it's
a little pricey on the horizon site I
think with the rebate in the two-year
commitment we're looking at two hundred
and ninety-nine dollars but it's a very
solid phone if you're willing to pay
that price I'll be back with the
software toward to identify the
additional software that verizon has put
on the unit that's it for now
