hi this is Steven skarlatos of
pocketnow.com and here is the video
unboxing of the verizon smt 5800 windows
mobile 6 standard smartphone I just
received let's go ahead and crack it
open here is the verizon box and this
smartphone has no touch screen since it
runs the windows mobile 6 standard OS
although one of the advantages of this
smartphone is that it does have a
slide-out keyboard let's take a look
inside got the manual and what looks to
be a case this up and we have a nice
little case here protect it we have a
screen protector usual brochures quick
start guide tips and shortcut we've got
the verizon wireless windows mobile
software with activesync and the device
center on Windows Vista and we have the
verizon access manager software as well
so here is the smt 5800 battery this is
the 1050 milliamp battery to a place on
the back of it always a little tricky
getting these covers off place the
battery in there is a protective cover
on the camera which we'll go ahead and
remove it's a nice feature so the camera
doesn't get scratched
there we go and the slide-out keyboard
we also have our USB cable power charger
and it looks like they've included an
adapter so you can put the standard
headphones in that so that this is a
very nice addition I've had to buy these
before for my t-mobile wing in my at&t
tilt but the fact that verizon has
included this is a very nice feature so
let's take a look and see how it
compares to some other devices I have
it's much smaller than the iphone
although thicker because of the slide
out keyboard it's definitely a smaller
device if you compare it to the i760
which is the touch screen version our
notion say version but a touchscreen
smartphone and compare their again much
smaller obviously a smaller screen as
well and you have it next to the AT&T
tilt so clearly the design of this phone
was to make it as small as possible to
make it more like a regular cell phone
with smart phone capability than a touch
screen type of phone so i'll go ahead
and charge this and we'll be back with
some more later that's it for now
