this is a quick tutorial to help you record almost unlimited 4k gameplay on your xbox 1x without a capture card and if I'm not entirely mistaken this technique also works on the 1s so what you'll need is a place to store these gameplay videos other than the Xbox itself personally I've gone over killed by using this all new Western Digital My Book duo 12 a terabyte raid external hard drive but you can use anything you want as long as it supports USB 3.0 or higher and has a capacity of at least 256 gigs now I tried hooking this raid enclosure up to the Xbox one X but that did not work so I don't think raid is supported so what I did instead was I opened the software that comes with the hard drive and reformatted it as just one big disk without any rate options and what you'll see on screen when you connect it to the Xbox is a pop-up asking whether you'd like to use this for games and apps or media now make sure to choose media and nothing else because if you choose games and apps it will reformat the hard drive to a different standard that only supports Xbox games and apps so when you've chosen media click the Xbox button on your controller and open up advanced settings in the broadcast and capture tab enter your password and you'll be greeted with a settings page that looks something like this and you're gonna change to settings game clip resolution to 4k or 1080p if you want to save space and then capture location to the external hard drive so what this does is it offloads a bunch of hard drive usage to your external hard drive and so now the Xbox can record high quality 4k gameplay clips of up to 60 minutes per video and if you need to record more just click record again and then when you want to transfer the videos to your PC for editing just unplug and connect to the computer as in normal hard drive it works very well so thanks for watching this quick tutorial video on how to record unlimited 4k gameplay on your xbox without a capture card let me know what you guys think about this and how it worked for you and yeah I'll see you guys in the next video peace
