hey guys jon rettinger from
TechnoBuffalo here today is December
second which means it's been one month
since technobuffalo launched and I
thought I'd be appropriate to celebrate
our one month birthday by sharing some
information with you about the site how
we're doing sort of give you guys a look
behind the curtains of technobuffalo so
like I mentioned weed alive for one
month and then that one month we have
achieved a fair amount of success and
notoriety we've had well over 600,000
total pageviews which is almost double
what our initial projections were in the
business plan something that I'm
extremely proud of if you're familiar
with Alexa rankings what Alexa does it
rings all the sites originally in
worldwide into a database and gives them
a number so in the United States
technobuffalo is now the 11,000 106 the
most viewed site in the country and
globally we are 60 1970 third most
viewed do you think about all the sites
in the world at something that we're
really proud of when we first tried to
launch in September and the servers
crash it was a very deflating day and we
weren't sure where we're gonna be able
to get the site up and launched but
since that happened we migrated over
service providers we moved from a
Windows environment to a nice
environment and we beefed up our servers
to probably overkill to make suree we're
not going to have a duplicate problem we
still have a lot of bugs to work out and
some things were kind of fixed but the
site is very very very much alive and
doing better than we ever could have
expected so we're really very happy and
really excited in the month we've had
almost a hundred thousand users register
for their own domains we've got almost
that same amount to create their own sub
blogs and the content is coming out like
crazy we're working on ways to get your
content featured more regularly what you
see right now is TechnoBuffalo one point
oh I'm working on which store to bring
you one point one or two point oh what
we really want to do with sort of first
and foremost in our mind is to make sure
the user content you guys are putting up
under sub blogs it's going to get more
apply on the homepage so I working on
ways in a dashboard people to go into
user sub logs and sort of sort the
content and see what's there fine was
most useful to them you guys are putting
out this fantastic amount of work and we
want you guys to get the rewards for it
so hopefully this new dashboard that
we're working on will ultimately get you
guys the exposure that you deserve we're
also working on a new commenting system
a way to make the way people or comments
a little bit more elegant and work with
some threaded messaging and waiting for
you to go to login in a myriad of
different ways that's not a thing that
we're sort of working on a really
excited about over the next few weeks to
see some design tweaks as well you'll
see some Lobos change and you'll see
some things show up in different places
and that's just us squeaking the sight
to see oh really what works and there's
no better sense of checking what works
what doesn't work then really doing in
the live environment so if you start
seeing things move around and looked a
little different cannot drop us a line
let us know what you think we're really
curious to get use your feedback like I
mentioned the sites always been about
you and we're really excited to you know
give you guys what we promised we're
also in the process of expanding we're
hiring new writers to contribute content
to the site so we should be getting
content up there on a fairly regular and
more regular basis right now we're
looking somewhere between the six to
eight pieces of content a day like to
get that up to upwards of 10 to 12
pieces of content a day there's more
stuff for you guys to read more surf you
to watch and hope there's more stuff for
us to talk about there's so much to do
and so much to discuss in the tech world
that really need to expand our staff in
order to be able to do that so we're
really excited about this site and we're
excited about the progress that we're
making we've gone from four from nothing
to zero to a legitimate technology
community and we clearly could have done
any of that without you guys so thank
you from the bottom of my heart for your
support thank you for your feedback on
technobuffalo a lot of the stuff that
you've been sending me has been put in
place for this two point oh that were
working on so again thank you guys for
your involvement anyway I'll keep doing
these periodically with something to
announce I want them to be complete
transparency between me and the site so
you guys can sort of know what we're
doing and sort of the trials and
tribulations we're going through hope it
will help you build your own
technobuffalo sub blog and if you want
to add writers to your own site you get
a sense of how to
then how to build your content so guys I
hope you enjoyed and I'll see you in the
next video bye bye
