Evena's Eyes-on glasses see through skin at CES 2014
2014-01-09
hey everybody this has been popper
reporting for The Verge at CES 2014 I'm
standing here with the Avena eyes on
glasses now this is a really consumer
device it's more for medical
professionals and when I put this on
basically what it allows me to do is to
see the veins in my arm
so the glasses are actually
multispectral they're pulsing four
different kinds of light back and forth
and I'm combining those into one
composite image that has great detail on
your vascularity so I'm looking down
here now and I'm seeing a sort of Google
glass style projection in side of the
screen and I can see all of my veins in
great detail they kind of stand out
black like on a white background it's
kind of a similar concept to an x-ray
although this is completely benign so
this is going to be used by nurses
trying to find a vein and also to see
when somebody has an IV for a particular
drug if there's leakage of that drug so
not really something you'd probably get
to use in your everyday life but
definitely cool technology that can help
us off
you
