okay it's James with the verge and I am
here at Mobile World Congress looking at
a flexible oh LCD screen now this is a
screen made by a company named flex
enable they don't make any consumer
products so this isn't a workable phone
this is just a sort of prototype running
a demo here which should have some
different screens coming up but they're
not so this is a based on plastic
transistor technology this means you can
curve it around your wrist but you can't
really flex it back and forth you can't
fold it and open it up like you maybe
would with some of the prototype
smartphones you've seen from Samsung
now flexible screen technology quite a
lot of different companies are coming
out with this at the moment earlier this
year at CES we saw an 18 inch flexible
display from LG that could be rolled up
like a newspaper so this is an LCD but
to get real flexibility that you can
kind of bend and flex and maybe even
fold me to move to oh le d now that's
going to take a bit longer but flex
enable the company behind it
say this is very near to working and
they could get it onto a product within
18 months for more you can check out the
verge comm or subscribe to our youtube
