well this is Ross Miller with the verge and today we are looking at Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol z1 which works with both the iPad and iPhone Traktor DJ apps okay so the first thing to note is this doesn't really add functionality to the track of DJ app think of it more as a complementary piece of hardware aside from free listen functionality the Kontrol z1 adds dedicated tactile controls like volume gain eq and filter and honestly if you've used a controller before you know exactly what to expect here Patrick control Z one comes out early July for about 199 dollars and yes it also works retractor Pro on the Mac and Windows
