hey everybody this is Sean with the
verge and I'm holding in my hand the
second generation moto e we just got it
delivered to our office this morning at
first glance it looks pretty similar to
last year's version but there's actually
a couple key differences they've removed
the backplate system on last year's moto
en moto G and changed it to this ring
color system so if you want to customize
your phone you're going to actually get
these different color ring options
including a couple that are actually
solid plastic back plates another key
difference here is the screen it's
bumped up to 4.5 inches this year the
displays still 540 x 960 though so
you're not getting anything terribly
high res another key difference of this
year's Moto e is that it's a lot faster
it's got a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
processor in it and from the first look
it looks like you're able to get through
apps go through lollipop really quickly
and even use the new camera launched
feature pretty quick there's a 5
megapixel camera on the back but the
front-facing camera that got added this
year is just a VGA camera so the
resolution is not really that great the
new Moto e is going to be the cheapest
phone and motorola's lineup it's going
to cost 149 dollars off contract it's a
little bit more expensive than one
hundred and twenty nine dollars of last
year's Moto e but it's still going to
cost you less than the Moto G or any of
motorola's premium smartphones if you're
looking for a premium smartphone this
really isn't an option for you but
anybody looking for a cheap phone off
contract now house probably the best
option around in the new Moto e it's an
LTE phone it runs great it's got
Motorola's great design and it's only
going to cost you $149
