hey guys it's not with the verge i'm
here at sony's booth at CES 2014 as
you'd expect from sony there's a big
push into tv's a big push into 4k the
most innovative thing i think they're
doing is that their TVs are now
triangles instead of being really really
thin panels with a big bump their web
shaped certainly is using the extra
space for these magnetic fluid speakers
they say that the extra air will let
them make better sound there's also a
new reference design isn't quite in the
web shape it's got a kind of a more
beautiful metal stand that is Sony is
kind of highest end reference design has
the best best picture quality it has a
local dimming LCD screen so the blacks
it really really black the whites get
really really white that's kind of a big
trend here at CES a text and a dynamic
range the wedge TVs have edge lighting
so they do it but the range isn't quite
as big and then there's a one step down
that doesn't have the front facing
speakers and install speakers but
they're not front-facing they're not
doing kind of the big air gap e thing
there's also a built-in camera and
integrated skype for video conferencing
as always with 4k the big question is
how are you going to get content Sony's
announcing a bunch of partnerships here
there's Netflix which is sort of
everywhere in 4k this year there's
youtube which is already been around and
kind of more interesting ones sony has
long been partners with ESPN and they're
partnering for streaming in 4k this year
so that is Sony and CS is always a lot
of TVs a lot of 4k a lot of really
really beautiful pictures
