Huawei’s $199 Honor 5X smartphone comes to the US — CES 2016
2016-01-06
hello from Caesars Palace in Las Vegas
where we've just attended honors event
honor is a subsidiary of the Chinese
company Kwame and it's just announced
the honor 5x a phone which has been out
for a few months but it's coming to the
u.s. in a few days it's a pretty normal
phone it's got a 5.5 inch 1080p display
as a Snapdragon chip inside 13 megapixel
camera three thousand milliamp battery
the thing with it is the price it's only
one hundred and ninety-nine ninety-nine
dollars which is pretty good considering
it's got a pretty solid metal build and
a fingerprint sensor on the back so it
does a little more than what you'd
normally expect for a phone in this
price range software-wise it runs a
similar skin to the other highway phones
that we've seen which means it kind of
looks a bit like iOS there there's no
app drawer the kind of notification
shade is very influenced by apple's
software but yeah if you're looking for
a cheap sub $200 phone this month then
honor is here for you but to be honest
more interesting than this phone was the
frankly ridiculous hoverboard show the
honor code on just before the
announcement so we're going to end this
video by showing you some of that
performance and you should stay tuned to
a YouTube tunnel to see more craziness
from CES
you
