hey guys this is Joanna for the verge
and I am here with the new samsung
series 9 this is the old one here on the
right the new one here on the left and
you can see they've done a lot of
redesigning and its really really nice
I'm a really big fan of the black lid
sort of different than what we've been
seeing from the rest of the ultra books
out there though they aren't calling
this one an ultrabook actually but
anyway it is really thin but they fit on
a number of ports there's actually an SD
card slot right down there which is
really nice they fit that in didn't have
it on the first one other than that just
the make here feels really good better
than most of the ultrabooks I've been
seeing let me open up the lid here so
you can see what's going on there just
again just to talk about the make its
aluminium all around the palm rest here
is feels like aluminum as well though it
has sort of a rubber feel to it and they
said they've improved that since the
original the display is 13 inches it's
got a 1600 x 900 resolution which is
pretty nice also a 400 nits brightness
there it's also got a backlit keyboard
it's not on right now but you can see
sort of the spacing here it's pretty
nice and internally it's going to have a
core i5 processor 128 gigabyte SSD and 4
gigabytes of RAM and they're not
positive on the pricing at least of the
time I'm shooting this which is a little
bit before CES but they're saying it's
going to be lower than fifteen hundred
dollars so that is a first look here at
the samsung series 9 hoping to get a
deeper look at it in a couple weeks and
do a full review to test out the battery
and the performance
you
