hi this is dieter bohn of the verge and
we are looking at tech based on
synaptics new touchpad chip with the
clear path 7300 which why this matters
is it's able to read up to 10 fingers at
a time which is nothing new but I can do
that while still maintaining a refresh
rate of 100 Hertz so it's a much more
accurate the other thing that's
interesting about the 70-300 is they
manage to do all that a single chip
whereas previously it had taken 15 so
what you're looking at here is actually
an HP touchpad and they ripped out the
old board that had 15 chips they put in
the new so d300 which is one and they're
able to do all of this synaptics is also
making a big push on Windows 8 they are
showing off the way that they can do
gestures and track pads and their palm
rest control so that you can ignore
palms while still reading up to five
fingers at a time and also drawing on
the trackpad so that's what synaptics
had to show off at CES 2012
