The 2017 Nissan GT-R packs more power and a new interior
2016-03-23
hey it's Chris from the verge and I'm
standing in front of Godzilla this is
the 2017 Nissan GTR
looks familiar but this is a refresh car
one interesting thing about the 2017
model is that Nissan has softened the
car a bit
they say it's quieter there were some
complaints about the previous version of
the car being a little mechanical
sounding so that's been smoothed out
there is the term GT and GTR which
stands for Gran Turismo this is designed
to be a luxury sports coupe in addition
to being a wickedly fast car there's 20
more horsepower under the hood it goes
from five forty five to five sixty five
zero to 60 in two point seven seconds
previously so you can expect the new car
to be around the same
that's fast anything under three is
insane so this car is refreshed on the
outside but also on the inside there's a
larger display still designed by
Polyphony Digital which is the maker of
Sony's grand trees most series of video
games as usual this car is an insane
value for what you're getting yes it's
over a hundred thousand dollars but to
put things in perspective you're getting
911 Turbo S performance for basically
half the cost
this is an old car in the grand scheme
of the automotive world the concept
version of this car debuted over 15
years ago but here we are it's still
being refreshed we're still a couple
years away from the r36 which will be
the next generation of the gt-r I love
it I think they could just keep going
with this for many years to come anyway
that's it for now from the New York Auto
