I'm ellis hamburger with average here
about to drive the mondo spider a
robotic spider built by eat art the
vancouver-based nonprofit brought to CES
by lenovo to provoke some thought about
climate change and energy since this
thing used to run on gasp now runs out
of rechargeable batteries ready oh my
god this is like if you've ever seen
that movie wild wild west where they're
driving that giant spider I'm like Will
Smith right now wild wild west Jim West
desperado rock strata no you don't warm
that up so this is kind of like driving
a Pontiac Aztek if you know what I mean
you know there's a lot of jarring
movement and a feeling of immense power
never felt anything quite like it each
of these throttles lets you go forward
for both backwards if you pull both back
this way is going to turn you to the
left this way is going to turn you to
the right it's actually really intuitive
this was my first time trying it and I'm
already stomping around I got to say
this is pretty sweet somehow I feel
surprisingly safe inside of this thing
in case I get attacked by any PR
professionals I think I'll be okay bring
it on back just like a parking spot
ok
